VFX Pack Creator
VFX Pack Creator walkthrough
Coming soon
The VFX Pack Creator makes recolored copies of your visual effects. Pick the effects, choose your colors, give the theme a name, and it produces a themed copy of each one - the same thing you’d do by hand when making a “red” and a “blue” version of an effect, but in a single step. Your original effects are left untouched.
Using it
Section titled “Using it”Select your VFX in the Project window, then Right-click -> Art Pipeline -> Create VFX Pack….
Options in the dialog
Section titled “Options in the dialog”| Option | What it does |
|---|---|
| One or Two colors | One color recolors everything to that color. Two colors lets effects that use a second color (like two-tone particles or gradients) use your second color too. |
| Main color | The main color the effects are recolored to. |
| Secondary color | The second color, used when you choose Two colors. |
| Recolor over time | Optional - give effects that change color over their lifetime a new color gradient. |
| Targets | Starts with whatever you right-clicked. Drag in more effects to add them, or remove any you don’t want. |
What you get
Section titled “What you get”- A themed copy of each effect, named after the original plus your theme name (for example
Fireball_Ice), saved next to the original. Your originals are never changed. - The copies stay linked to the originals, so if you tweak the original effect later, the themed copies pick up those changes automatically - only the colors stay overridden.
- Brightness and glow are preserved - only the color (hue) changes, so effects keep their intensity and soft edges.
Settings
Section titled “Settings”Found in Project Settings -> Art Pipeline -> VFX Packs.
| Setting | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Themed copy name | Original name + theme (e.g. Fireball_Ice) | How the recolored copies are named. |
| Overwrite existing | Off | Remake themed copies that already exist, instead of skipping them. |
| Recolor materials too | On | Also recolor effect materials that have a built-in color, by safely copying them first. |
| VFX folders | Any selected effect | Limit which folders count as VFX. Left empty, any effect you select works. |
| Folders to ignore | None | Folders the tool should skip. |
It works out of the box with no setup - any effect you select can be themed.
